It’s hard to believe we are already moving into the middle of May! Last week was a busy and exciting one at Sembach Elementary School.
We are incredibly proud of our Grade 3–5 Tigers for the exceptional job they did during testing last week. Students showed perseverance, focus, and determination throughout the assessment process. While we will complete a few make-up testing sessions this week for students who were absent, the majority of testing is now complete. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for supporting our learners during this important time.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our Sembach families for helping make Staff Appreciation Week so special. Our faculty and staff truly felt appreciated and supported throughout the week as they enjoyed each day’s appreciation theme and thoughtful gestures. Your kindness and generosity meant so much to our entire team.
This week, we are excited to celebrate College and Career Awareness Week as students continue learning about future opportunities, careers, and pathways to success. On Monday, classrooms will participate in Alma Mater and Branch of Service activities, and on Wednesday, students are encouraged to participate in Career Dress-Up Day by dressing as a career they may be interested in pursuing one day. Staff members are also invited to wear clothing from their alma mater. On Friday, participating students will decorate paper dolls representing professions they are interested in pursuing. We look forward to seeing our Tigers showcase their future goals and dreams throughout the week!
We are also looking forward to our upcoming GLOW Dance on Friday, May 15, in the school theater. Families are reminded that registration is required to attend. UPK–2nd grade students will attend from 4:30–5:30 PM, and adults must remain with students during that session. Students in grades 3–5 will attend from 5:45–7:00 PM, and adults are optional for the upper grade session. Glow packs may be pre-ordered through May 13 for $5, and a limited quantity will also be available for cash purchase at the dance. Concessions including pizza, drinks, and snacks will also be available for purchase.
As a reminder for families participating in Tigers Got Talent, tryouts will take place on May 13, with rehearsal dates scheduled for May 20 and May 27. The final performance will be held on Friday, May 29, from 3:00–4:30 PM in the Sembach Theater. Please continue to review the attached flyer for additional details regarding auditions and rehearsals.
