Tiger Tales Newsletter
Week of March 9–13
Sembach Elementary continues to be a busy and exciting place for our Tigers. Each week we see our students demonstrating kindness, teamwork, and service to others. Thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership in helping make our school community such a special place.
Blanket Drive Extended
Our student-led blanket drive has been a wonderful success so far. Thanks to the generosity of our families and community, 111 blankets have already been collected to provide warmth and comfort to patients undergoing medical transport.
Here is the current total by Tiger neighborhood:
- Bengals: 12
- Malayan: 7
- Sumatran: 20
- Siberian: 11
In addition, our community donation locations have collected:
- Post Office Bin: 43 blankets
- Tiger Theater Bin: 21 blankets
Congratulations to the Sumatran Neighborhood, which has earned an extra recess for collecting the most blankets so far!
But the fun is not over yet. The blanket drive has been extended until Spring Break. Each Tiger neighborhood will continue their friendly competition, and the neighborhood with the highest number of donations between now and Spring Break will earn another extra recess.
If you have gently used blankets at home, please consider donating them and supporting this meaningful service project led by our students.
Stakeholder Feedback Survey – Deadline March 13
Families are reminded that the 2025–2026 DoWEA Stakeholder Feedback Survey is currently open. This survey provides an opportunity for parents and students to share valuable feedback that helps guide school improvement efforts across DoWEA.
The survey will remain open through March 13, 2026, and we encourage families to take a few minutes to participate so your voice can be heard.
2026–2027 School Calendar Update
The district recently shared an update regarding the 2026–2027 school calendar. One important change is that first semester will now conclude before winter break, which will allow for a smoother transition into second semester for both students and staff.
For schools in the Europe region, including Sembach Elementary:
- First Day of School: August 17, 2026
- Last Day of School: June 2, 2027
You can review the full calendar and additional details on the DoWEA website.
