Sembach Elementary Honors Military Children with Patriotic Clap-In

Sembach Elementary School hosted a spirited military clap-in Wednesday morning, welcoming students with applause, cheers, and waves of red, white and blue as part of its celebration of the Month of the Military Child.
Students, staff, service members and families across the Sembach community lined the school entrance, proudly donning patriotic colors and waving American flags. The event was a heartfelt tribute to military-connected children and the unique challenges they face as part of military life.
“We want every child walking through our doors to know they are seen, celebrated, and supported,” said Principal Martha Enyeart. “Military children show such resilience and strength and today was about making sure they feel the love of their community.”
Military personnel from various units stationed at Sembach joined the celebration, forming a path of encouragement as students entered the school building. Some service members held signs of appreciation, while others exchanged high-fives and salutes with the young students.
For many children, the experience was both emotional and empowering.
“It made me feel really proud,” said third-grader Henry T., whose parents both served in the Army.
The clap-in is one of several events planned throughout April at Sembach Elementary to honor military families. Additional activities include spirit days, classroom projects, and lastly a parent car parade to conclude the celebrations.
