Greetings, Tiger Nation!
Welcome to the 2nd quarter of the school year! It is so exciting to see the leaves change colors as we formally enter fall! With the weather in mind, please ensure students arrive to school with appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.
As we reflect on the first nine weeks school, there are a few reminders that we need to communicate to the Sembach ES community.
Attendance–Regular attendance for all DoDEA students is required and necessary for student academic success and positive social relationships with peers. DoDEA’s policy on attendance may be found here: https://www.dodea.edu/education/student-services/attendance-program
Timeliness – The beginning of the school day is a critical time which establishes the routine and expectations of the day for all students. It is vital that students arrive on time each day. Timely arrival allows for students to enter the learning environment calmly, prevents disruption to instruction and routine established by teachers, and provides timely meal notifications to our cafeteria staff. If a student arrives to school after 0800 for gradesK-5 (0815 for Sure Start), you must go to the front office to sign him/her in and receive a tardy slip which must be presented to the classroom teacher for documentation. For our youngest Tigers, a member of our office staff will then escort the student(s) to class.
Dismissal – The end of the instructional day is a very busy time for everyone. To ensure the safety and timely dismissal of all students, please contact the front office directly with any change to how your child(ren) will be dismissed. Contacting the front office is preferred as email communications to the teacher(s) may not always be received in a timely manner during the instructional day. Communicating any dismissal changes to the front office no later than 1330 allows adequate time to make the necessary adjustments. Parents should arrive on time for pick up. K-5students are dismissed at 1425, and Sure Start students are dismissed at 1345. Please call the office directly or email our registrar, Erin Chandler at erin.chandler@dodea.edu.
We appreciate your continued support with the above as we work toward creating a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which students can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically ,and socially. Have a wonderful and restful weekend!
WE ARE, the SEMBACH TIGERS!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
