Principal's Corner

Greetings, Tiger Nation!

What an exciting week we’ve had here at Sembach Elementary!

The PTO sponsored Holiday Shop has been a huge success! Thank you, PTO and all the volunteers, for providing this unique experience to our Tigers! Last night our Tiger Cub Choir gave a FANTASTIC performance of “Songs of the Season!” Under the direction of music teacher, Ms. Hartwig, the students serenaded us with 10 songs and ended the evening with a sing-a-long! Student solos were performed by Lilyana and Milana F., Brooklyn S., and Elise W! Jacob P. and Sebastian K. even played a variety of piano pieces as we waited for the concert to begin! Well done, everyone! We have some verytalented Tigers in our midst!

Yesterday, school counselor Ms. Fletcher, and our A4L (Anchored 4 Life) Team Leaders provided a German Christmas Tradition Event for students new to Sembach ES this schoolyear. Information about various German traditions were shared, along with traditional holiday cookies and hot chocolate! It was an absolutely YUMMY, event! Thanks Ms. Fletcher and theA4L Leaders!

This morning, the whole school gathered in our Tiger Tale Theater to enjoy a performance from members of the 30th Medical Brigade. They presented a skit for us, teaching us about “Holidays Around the World!” We learned about holiday traditions from America, Mexico, Poland, Japan, Latin America, and more. Students were given the opportunity to learn about a variety of holidays including Hannukah and Kwanza. The students LOVED it! Afterwards, the Tiger Cub Choir performed again for the school! Students were smiling and singing along! We were all surprised at the end when 4th and 5th grade students played their recorders in a “flash mob” performance of Jingle Bells! Thank you Dr. Torres and Ms. Hartwig for preparing this assembly for us all!

One week to go before Winter Break! Let’s stay focused, do our best to listen and learn from our teachers and enjoy the last week of “the year!”

At Sembach Elementary School we strive to provide safe, nurturing, and engaging educational environments for all our students!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
