Tiger Tales Newsletter - February 13, 2024
Principal's Corner...
Greetings, TIGER NATION!
We have quite a unique weekly schedule ahead of us. Tuesday 13 Feb is a no-school day for students but a CSI Day (Continuous School Improvement) for staff. We will be working with professional development regarding 21 Century teaching and learning skills, focusing on our School Action Plan and gauging instructional decisions based off of recent assessment data. Wednesday is Valentines Day and you should have already heard from your child’s teacher about any special activities happening. Friday, 16 February is another no-school day where the teachers and I will be participating in the quarterly professional development training based on the CCR Standards and the HQIP (High Quality Instructional Practices.)
ATTENDANCE REMINDER: Regular attendance in elementary school is crucial for a child's academic and social development. Consistent attendance ensures that students have the opportunity to fully engage with the curriculum, participate in classroom activities, and build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. Missing school frequently can lead to gaps in learning, making it challenging for students to keep up with their peers. Moreover, consistent attendance fosters a sense of routine and discipline, teaching children the importance of responsibility and commitment. Beyond academics, attending school regularly also plays a vital role in the social aspects of a child's life, as it allows them to develop friendships, communication skills, and a sense of belonging within their school community. In essence, regular attendance in elementary school sets the stage for a well-rounded and successful educational journey. Please review our Attendance Policy and Protocols found on the next page. Thank you for your cooperation and support in the education of your child!
As we get closer to Spring, we will be experiencing some very uniquely German traditions, starting with, FASCHING! Thank you, Frau Dr. Gath, for teaching us about this interesting, yet fun season and its celebrations! Check out the article below! We hope your family can witness and maybe participate in some of the fun!
Acts of Kindness Week starts on Wednesday, 14 February! Ms. Fletcher, School Counselor will be providing special lessons all month in the classrooms, all regarding the idea of Kindness. At SEMBACH ES, Tigers are Helpful, Respectful, and Kind!
Have a wonderful week, everyone!
