Principal's Corner...
Greetings, TIGER NATION!
We hope everyone enjoys the long President’s Day weekend!
Today, our staff participated in DoDEA quarterly professional development training regarding the CCRS (College and Career Readiness Standards) and more specifically the High Quality Instructional Practices that is our focus this year. Teachers are working collaboratively with each other and teachers from KES and VES. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow together as educators. Thanks to Ms. Shannon Slattery at DoDEA HQ for putting together this video to share examples of how learning is being transferred into practice. It is exciting to see classrooms across the agency growing from the implementation of this learning. This week we have our Kindness Week celebration that Ms. Fletcher, School Counselor has planned for us as we continue to learn about Kindness during the month of February! Please see the attached flyer for the designated dress up days for each day next week. At SEMBACH ES, Tigers are Helpful, Respectful, and Kind!
ATTENDANCE REMINDER: Regular attendance in elementary school is crucial for a child's academic and social development. Consistent attendance ensures that students have the opportunity to fully engage with the curriculum, participate in classroom activities, and build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills. Missing school frequently can lead to gaps in learning, making it challenging for students to keep up with their peers. Moreover, consistent attendance fosters a sense of routine and discipline, teaching children the importance of responsibility and commitment. Beyond academics, attending school regularly also plays a vital role in the social aspects of a child's life, as it allows them to develop friendships, communication skills, and a sense of belonging within their school community. In essence, regular attendance in elementary school sets the stage for a well-rounded and successful educational journey. Please review our Attendance Policy and Protocols found on the next page. Thank you for your cooperation and support in the education of your child!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
