Tiger Tales Newsletter - February 2, 2024
Principal's Corner
Greetings, TIGER NATION! Happy February, everyone!
This week was very busy here at Sembach Elementary! Lots of hard work and learning took place across the board! Our Kindergarten students met with their 3rd grade reading buddies! They also just finished their first Reader’s Theater - “The Three Little Pigs and the Wolf.” Our 1st grade students worked with their 4th grade buddies on a Seesaw scavenger hunt! Excellent opportunities for our students to collaborate and learn with each other!
Our 4th Grade students participated in the biennial NAEP assessment, (National Assessment of Educational Progress) yesterday. I was so proud of them as the testing administration team left some extremely wonderful praise for our students and school! “Your students were so respectful, used wonderful manners, said “Thank You“ after passing out materials!“ “The students followed directions so well and really took their time!“ “The teachers were very patient, supportive, and flexible.“ Sembach ES, ROCKS!“ Great job 4th Grade TEAM!
Family Reading Night will be happening this coming Wednesday, 7 February from 1500-1700 in the library. Ms. B will be welcoming one and all to check out books, talk about favorites, and maybe even hear a book being read aloud, as well! Come on out and let’s READ together!
As we get closer to Spring, we will be experiencing some very uniquely German traditions, starting with, FASCHING! Thank you, Frau Dr. Gath, for teaching us about this interesting, yet fun season and its celebrations! Check out the article below! We hope your family can witness and maybe participate in some of the fun!
Thank you, PTO for hosting our first Valentines Making event yesterday! There were many families here crafting together and enjoying the dinner treats they prepared!
Be sure to check out the flyer about our ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK starting on 14 February! Ms. Fletcher, School Counselor will be providing special lessons all month in the classrooms, all regarding the idea of Kindness. At SEMBACH ES, Tigers are Helpful, Respectful, and Kind!
Don’t forget... District Teacher of the Year nominations are being accepted through 9 February! Please see the attached flyer on how to nominate a SES teacher, now!
Have a Wonderful Weekend, everyone!
