Sembach Elementary School Tiger Tales Newsletter

Principal's Corner:

Greetings, TIGER NATION! It was finally a full week here at Sembach Elementary! Although rainy and mostly cloudy all week, we were able to have our students in the building for 5 full days of instruction! Our 3rd - 5th grade students worked hard on their Interim 2 Math assessment, cross grade level buddies were able to meet again, and routines seemed to settle back into place. With 3rd quarter in full swing, it’s time to refocus and get back to the business of LEARNING! GO TIGERS!

A special thanks to everyone who came out for Family Math Night yesterday! It was wonderful seeing so many families learning new math games and working through problems together! Identifying patterns and persevering in problem solving provides opportunities for increasing our mathematical efficiency! We hope you continue to play these games at home and take advantage of the many “every day” opportunities to practice math skills. Our Academic Support Specialists, Ms. Whaley and Ms. Kniffen planed a wonderful event and thanks also goes to the fabulous SEMBACH PTO for their support as well!

Please continue to be vigilant with making sure your child(ren) are dressed for the weather each day! Layers work best! We truly appreciate your cooperation and help with this as we do try to get outside for brain breaks and recess even in “misty/chilly” weather.

Our 2nd Quarter TIGER Award assemblies will be held on Friday 2 February! If you received an email notifying you of your child being selected for one of these quarterly awards, we will see you at the designated time! Please sit in the back of the theater as our students will be filling in from the front.

Family Reading Night will be happening on Wednesday, 7 February from 1500-1700 in the library. Ms. B will be welcoming one and all to check out books, talk about favorites, and maybe even hear a book being read aloud, as well! Come on out and let’s READ together!

Don’t forget... District Teacher of the Year nominations are being accepted through 9 February! Please see the attached flyer on how to nominate a SES teacher, now! Have a WONDERFUL Weekend, everyone!
